Abdulla,
I get my Shackles from SPEEDEX, right next to Oasis Center on Sheikh Zayed Road, there is a big hardware store there called Speedex.
They have all kinds of shackles, they also have the polished and unpolished ones, I prefer the polished ones, slightly more expensive but they never get jammed when you try to unbolt the screw. Very good quality and very strong.

Also try Ace as they have rated shackles ie rating is stamped on each one.The speedex ones don't have this may be ok but you cannot be too sure. I have started replacing mine with rated ones, to make sure that the Disco gets pulled out of the next bowl i drive into Shaun

Well gentlemen,,,
Yesterday I visited ACE to buy some camping items.. I was searching for shakles, but it seems that they out of stock..(This was for ACE sharjah)..
Anyway, I will visit both ACE & SPEEDEX..
Actually I'm looking for a capacity higher than my snatch straps..so in case.. then no shackle will fly toward wind shield.. (Cause it happend to me twice,, but I was so lucky that the shackle had hit the hood grill in one of recoveries..), from those bad practices I learned to keep the hood open while recovery is in progress.
Thanx again and alot...
Kind D-Regards, Abdullah

Two things I would like to point out: - If you find them, by the shackles with the pin and not the thread. Shackles with a pin will always open even when bended. The only one I know are sold at ACE and are colored in red. - To avoid any airborne shackles, put something on the middle of the tow strap, like a soft tool bag, a jacket, a blanket. It will slow down any "ballistic" intention of a flying shackle....

Also, pay attention to the strenght of your hoocks oattachment points to the vehicle's frame. No need to have extra heavy straps and shackles if they manage to bend your frame.... Your tow strap capacity should not exceed twice the weight of the vehicle. Otherwise, damages could be done to the tow hoock attachment points. It is best to use ropes with an elasticity coef of at least 20%. Damages to the hoock and the frames, and flying shackles are much less likely with that kind of ropes.
