I'm putting this here until Fouad gets round to making a new category!
Fouad may have already spoken to some of you regarding marshalling for the 2005 DC.
The dates are:-
9 November (Prologue-in Dubai)-This needs Start and Finish Teams and as many track/rescue marshals as possible. Starts at 4, but we need people from 2pm onwards.
10-14 November Stages 1-6 (2 stages on the 14th)-These need Start and Finish teams, and 5 Passage Control marshals each day (double on the last day)
Start and Finish teams consist of around 7 people each, and the PCs around 5 people.
We have many of the requirements already filled, but the Prologue in particular is short-manned. If you ARE interested in anything at all, we will try to fit you in.
If anyone would like to marshal at the event (stages OR Prologue), would you please email me at ron.thompson@sumitomocorp.co.jp with details:-
Name Mobile No Email Address Dates you are available Experience (not necessary, training will be given)

Thanks Fouad for moving the post to a new topic.
Still looking for people who want a week's fun in the desrt-great offroading, and good sport, as well as a chance to meet the teams and the world's top off road drivers.
Apart from Marshals, there are vacancies for other key positions, such as Safety Officer and so on.

Anybody of our club is participating or has an assignment this years rally?
So far, nobody contacted me to take a task as marshall or so. May be everything is settled allready and the teams are complete. A pitty; I reserved the rally days allready as off days from work.

Well, we have done it again, 5 days desert. This year the biouvac was clean, food was good and sanitary facilities where renewed and cleaned several times a day. VERY GOOD! Seems they have learned from previous years. I enjoyed it very much. I joined the Start-team all 5 days, was OK but a little more communication and organizing would have been better. - Well, I possibly join the wrong 4x4club, may be thats why. I am happy about David and his co-pilot and also Eyad and his pilot finishing the whole rally. I am sure next year will be on even better positions. It really where tough stages this year. I want to thank the DC organization again for the improvement in all the things about the biouvac I mentioned above. I had a great time. See you back next year. Klaus p.s. I would have liked to add some pictures, unfortunately there is still no easy way to do, it might only be for pvivilegded members?! added 2 pictures by link. Hope it works. This happened during the on day4, the guy was watching us and not the road. Picture is taken 2 hours after the start. img5.picsplace.to/img.php?file=img5/13/S2010009.JPGimg5.picsplace.to/img.php?file=img5/13/S2010010.JPG
