Klaus,
When it comes to ashpalt road, nothing beats Pirelli, they are the most stable tyres, this is known to everyone. Additionally I hear Pirelli are the most quiet tyres, practically no sound. No wonder BMW X5 uses them as original tyres.
On Offroad, I cannot tell you objectively and honestly because I have not tested them myself, but my wife has Michelin and they are very good, Pirelli is said to be better than Michelin, so you can draw the conclusion.
For information, Mohammed Ben Sulayyem used Pirelli in many of his succesful races. He even contributed in the development of some tyres. For development, Pirelli made desert specific tyres and sent them to Ben Sulayyem for testing before they release them to the market.
This is what I can tell you without having tested them myself.

Isnt Hawai Tyres even on Dubai - AbuDhabi Road somewhere near interchange 3 & the Passat/Bettle Showroom?
Well I had been there a year or so back, when my tyres (265/70 R16) were due to be changed, and i found the prices of Pirelli to be most reasonable. The dunlop/bridgestone tyres were a bit higher and Michelin being the most expensive.
Tho i ended up with Michelin, and completly satisfied with them, a friend of mine got the Scorpion in the same tyre size and is very happy with it.
Doono how the Pirelli perform off road, but i guess they are best known for their Low Profile Tyres. Thts why u usually see them mostly in sports cars!
But i guess if your getting a 20% discount on a complete set being a member of UAE4x4, it would be worth every fill, as i remember when i got my Michelin, Pirelli were ard 40% cheaper, and with this additionaly 20%, it might just be getting a complete set at half the price of what Michelin might cost you ;D

Fouad,
what do you think about fixing 265 instead of 255 tyres? I calld them the 255 are not available at the moment - inshalah in two weeks. They ask AED 385,-/tyre, it's not too bad but what about discount? Anyhow I will go for these tyres, looked at different websites, this tyre must be great for our purpuses. All over the world only good comment about 255 75/15 SCORPION S/T.
Thank you

Pawan, Klaus Yes Hawai do have a service center on Sheikh Zayed Road. The deal has been concluded only yesterday, and the cards are being designed and printed. I would give the guys a little time to notify all branches of Haway. That's I recommended the Rashidiya branch coz they know already about the deal. 255-265. It's not a question o Brand Klaus, it's really a question of whether your car can take a certain size, why dont you go to Hawai and have them test-fit both tyre sizes. What you have to look for is enough fender space to avoid rubbing in offroad conditions. The other is the front tyres have to fit on a rim that has enough backspacing so the tyre wont rub on the sides while turning. Good Luck , other than that ....Bigger is better \ Fouad

Last year one of the Marshall's of the Gulf News Fun Drive came in an X-trail.
Definitely not like a Patrol but is OK as long as the transmission is cool. Under heavy work the tranny got hot and then stuck in 2 wheel drive. Had to wait till it cooled down then back into 4x4 mode and out of the bowl it was in..
How confident are you of your driving..

I have taken the X-Trail out to the desert, I dont advise it. The X-Trail is not made for Desert sands. maybe rocky areas yes, but not desert.
