Hi all,
Just got back from the UK and picked up some walkie-talkies- a steal of a price (100Dhs for a pair!!). Only 8 channel with scan and voice operated, with 3km range. -I just hope they are compatable with everyone elses and work on legal frequencies. Does anyone know?? If they do, I think I shall have to import a few hundred!! -

If they work on FRS channels then yes they are compatible with the rest of us, judging from the 3Km, I think they are FRS walkie-talkies. but 1000 Dhs is a bit expensive, you could get a pair for around half that price with the same range, try Motorolla at Axiom in city centre, or Pluggins.

Hi:
UK/EU walkie-talkies use PMR446 whereas US walkie-talkie use FRS/GMRS. Different frequencies are used so they are not compatible.
