My 3.8L Pajero has ASTC. It can be switched off, but switches itself on again when the vehicle speed is over 80kph and can only be switched off when you slow to less than 40kph. This is obviously useless for sand driving (particularly on fast sand tracks)
Anyone know if this can be disabled by a hard switch, or any company that can re-map the computer (so that it only switches on again at over say 120kph)?

Did you try the fuse box ?? maybe there's a fuse for it ?? I know for a fact the Pajero has an ABS fuse which you can remove to disable ABS on soft sand, did you check if the traction control has one as well ?

I spent some time with Shaun Hamilton at Mitsubishi, lokked at the wiring diagrams and tried several fuses but the only one that disabled the MASTC was the one that also disabled the brake servo pump, so not a good solution!
