Fouad, you said:
"I have BFG as well, best d**n tyres I ever used. and I did test a lot of tyres."
Were those the Macadam's?

Don't know what you mean about Macadam. I used to have BFG Longtrail (OEM tyres that came on my Blazer) then after 2 years hanged them to BFG KO (All terrain) slightly more aggressive, but better grip on sand. been having for 2 years now.
Difference is : on Longtrail I used to defalte to 15, on the aggressive thread (for them to work) you have deflate down to 8 or even 6 then there's nothing stopping you. But you have to bear the onroad noise. Pirelli is, of course, much more better in tis area.

I've seen people refer to the BFG Macadam as a recent A/T tyre from BFG. Haven't seen/tried it, just researching still. I need to replace my OEM Bridgestone H/T 689 - they're OK but dig in pretty quick when stopped So your BFG KO A/T then take you to the top of the hills, right? Will check them out - thanks. B.

BP I run BFG Macadam 275's on my LWB Patrol. they are soft, rubber sidewall (Michelin made). Excellent on the road, very good for cornering, amazing in sand but uncomfortable on rock (already blew two up coming up and down Wadi Bih). Tyres? Depends what you want to do with them. I would rather do sand and road so that is a good choice for me. Had Dueler's before, ya they tend to dig in a bit so had to deflate to 12 PSI on sand on a regular basis. My 2 cents on that one JF

If you try the BFG KO you wonr regret them, you've seen me in the desert, so they are ok, the KO is OK as for Rocks, the KOs are REALLY made for rocks, in 2 years I have been in the rocky mountains numerus times, at least once a month, they never failed me so far, same tyres. Worth mentioning also the BFG KOs are really at a good price, I changed all 4 tyres 2 years ago, cost me 1550 Dhs from Al Futtaim. Fouad

That's good and detailed feedback - thanks.
Fouad: Did they ever come off rim for you / what pressure do you run at?
Jimbo: Are they available at usual tyre places?

Hi,
I have the same set of tires Fouad is talking about and they are wonderful in both perormance and looks wise. However, big sized tires are really heavy, I run 285/75-R16, equiv. to 33" on Nissan Patrol LWB, and deflate to 16psi front and 15psi rear with trouble free with moderate to cool driving style.
Out of the rim? well, yes, you can have out of the rim almost any tire, and it is all based on the combination of your driving style and tire pressure. (Detailed above in this thread).
Availability is almost everywhere in industrial area in Sharjah or Dubai, I got mine from Sharjah.
Hint: Try to have them all with almost the same manufacturing date.
Regards,

Fouad, just closing the loop here - I'm getting close to a decision: On a different post, you mentioned "I have Michelin on my wife's Pathfinder, they are fairly good (not great) but nothing compares to the BFG"
What Michelin's are they? LTX M/S, LTX A/T or other?

Khaiwi, I'm interested in your lift kit. Where did you buy/fit it? Is it the Old Man Emu from Masaoods? Thanks

Dear diverae,
The Lift kit is the standard 2" OldMan EMU, consisting of 4 Nitro shocks and 4 coils. The set is available from almost all the performance shops in SHJ, DXB and AUH. Fitting does not really need a very skilled mechanic. Very basic tools would do.
Kit costs 1600 Dhs and fitting is only 100 Dhs.
I hope this answers the question.

Well - went with the Macadam's. The KO's looked too aggressive with the amount of on-road highway mileage I'm doing with the car. Macadam were amazing on sand (at least compared to my old Dueler H/T) . With my Pajero SWB, coasted up Big Red today on 16 psi, and came 10 meters short from the rear ;D ;D ;D. (But now I can't blame the tires anymore ) So now I gotta look for more performance . Any good suggestions for DXB...? B.

Well after 8k on these tyres I am still truly amazed. Run them routinely at 12.5/11.5 offroad (when dune-bashing) and they deliver massive traction! Highly recommended.

I used to have LTX synchrone something, now I swtiched to Pirelli STR, but haven't tried them in the desert yet, and I am not too keen either, the Pathy is the family car and carries my 6 months old baby, not too keen on using it as a play car. I swtiched to Pirelli because safety is primary concern on the Pathfinder.
Nothing compares to my Blazer anyway as a play car....modestly speaking..hehehe.
