Hi guys I bought a Garmin 3 plus in Singapore and when I use it here in Dubai, the gps often shows me that i am in water while I am on say, beach road!! i.e. the calibration is off by a few hundred metres. Wondered if anyone else has had such an experience - or if someone knows the solution to the issue. Thanks in Advance

The world map from Garmin is very poor for this region, if you zoom in to max, you will see that the map has a big offset. Garmin is not willing to update in the near future, I asked several times. You need to use self scannec maps. I live near CITY CENTER in Dubai, on Garmin map I live in the creek.
Believe where you realy are.

The Offset is normal on Garmin, we all learned to live with it. My Advice is to stay with Garmin for a few months, once you feel you are experienced with it, then you can move to something like Oziexplorer. Will be posting maps in the future on the site.
