Hi, Does anyone have suggestions for nice off-trips similar to Fossil Rock/Big Red/Falaj al Moalla, and so on? (that is, other than those mentioned on this site in the routes section.. ) Should preferably be "sandy". Just curious, as I have looked through the "Offroad Explorer" that I have, and couldn't find anything quite similar to them, that might just be me being stupid though.. -André

My Favorite is Al Hayer area. I haven't placed it yet on the site, but will update the routes section of the site during ramadan (or after the desert challenge craze). Al Hayer on the Dubai-Al Ain highway, about 100 K from Dubai (or less). you will see the sign along the way. once you get there, take the underpass and corss to the other side (north side, or the al ain-dubai direction) the area now on your right is a wonderful area for both travel and play. be careful, although easy, it can be tricky at times, and watch for farms. if you go straight north, you should end up in the background of Big Red, if you go north-east, you end in hatta pools. the entire area is sandy. this trip was done there : www.uae4x4.com/events/club/trip019.htmlGood Luck and drive safely Fouad
