my Hi-lift being used to change a tyre. in 5 years since I had my Blazer, I changed my tyre only once , sorry I didnt even change it, I reinflate it and I did it with my stock car jack. However, I have pulled and been pulled zillions of times, so now you know why I bought the hi-lift. Hold on a sec, this is going out of hand the more we go on the more we forget what initially prompted this whole discussion, let's get back to basics : What we have : a stuck vehicle, a rope with shackles, and another vehicle to tow it. What we need or the Challenge : a simpler way of getting out or a self recovery technique or equipment, in other words dispensing with the other vehicle, without having to spend more than 3-5 minutes to SETUP the procedure. proposed solutions (for self recovery):1- Winch + Sand Anchor. 2- Hi-lift + Sand Anchor. 3- Wheelpul + Sand Anchor. 4- Hi-lift + Lift mate + Sand tracks (Hard not rubber). Advantages and disadvantages of each system (cost, setup timing, weight, efficiency). The reason why I added setup timing and stressed on 3 minutes setup, coz it takes less than a minute to hook a stuck vehicle to another vehicle, if the system takes longer, then might as well forget it and use the quickest way. I like this thread, it's our quest to reach the ultimate self-recovery technique/equipment after your products are done, I think we would have to conduct the above tests to prove each item's overall efficiency.
