I tried opening multiple MrSid files inone screen I couldnt, I must be doing something wrong Fouad Fouad, I'll investigate and get back to you ASAP. But as for now, I think it's doable by selecting 'All DRG maps on CD' from the 'File -> Import Map' menu option. I cannot tell for sure how to do it, as I left my portable, with everythong on it, at office.

I didn't try to open them all in one screen, although Ozi has the facility to open multi DRG files. I wrote the above text in a previous post in this thread. It gave the impression that we can open more than one MrSid image in Ozi's window. Frankly, I though it's possible, but I was mistaken. But after research I knew that importing 'All DRG maps on a CD or in a Folder' will automate the process of importing multiple map images and create the map files to them. Then you go open each map file separately -from the map folder you specify in the import dialog. Still you will only be able to open one map file at a time. Note that after you finish the import process of ALL DRG maps, nothing will appear on the screen. Instead you have to go and open an imported map file. Please review the text in this web page: realbiker.ru/OziExplorer/drgmaps.shtml#import_cd

If some one could send me the scneed map of the uae in JPEG format please e-mail me. I can not dowload them as I have only ISDN so 35 MB can not be dowload like this... FYI, AMIT trading (GPS GARMIN) will launch soon MAPSOURCE with the UAE map. For dubai, when you will click on a building you will have plenty of informations (name, exact location...) End of last year & begining of this year they were testing it. So maybe they are making some corrections...

I have all the Nasa (2000) MrSid files for UAE and Oman plus scanned and calibrated (for Ozi) Dubai/UAE road map on CD. I could give a set to one person..say Fouad and you all could arrange for a copy through him.

Re UAE scanned & calibrated maps for OzyExplorer I would certainly be interested in a copy of these maps as my attempts to date to scan & calibrate satelite images were not realy successful. Plotting(loading from GPS) my GPStrack from a recent trip to Daphra Sands (LIWA) on MY calibrated scanned map seems to imply that I have crossed the Dubai Creek twice without noticing it!!! ADCOM in Abu Dhabi told me that the much discussed streetmap is expected any time soon, whilst GARMIN notified me that no release date has been set as yet.

Thanks for this info Otto. But who should we believe then ? If any street map is available from Garmin, with navigation facility, they will have the whole maket for them (apart from BMW GPS installed on BMW and Landrover). I also have few maps calibrated for Ozi, but we have to make small enough in order not to saturate lap-tops memory. I also have some other scanned map of Liwa Area. The best would be to breakdown maps by "playing areas" (Liwa, Margham, Oman Wahiba Sands, etc...). Is that what you have done Prasad ? If so, I am delighted to have a copy of your CD. Christophe

What I have are the Nasa landsat 7 2000 maps which covers all of the uae and oman + some street maps of UAE and Dubai (scanned and calibrated) about A4 size and I have tried them out with a laptop and moving map in Ozi it works fine and also scrolls from map to map as required. One of you send me your P.O.Box and I'll post you a set.
